A new beginning for a New Year- Jan.2013

This time it is certain I will maintain this blog. I have so much I want to share about the work I've been doing.  This fall, I worked with pre-schoolers, kindergartners and their teachers in a twice weekly extended residency linking storytelling, early literacy and tradition.  As I look over all we accomplished, I'll be posting my thoughts and ideas.  Four and five year olds expecially enjoyed acting out their own stories.  Let me know if you want a copy of my protocol for "capturing stories" from the children.
Also, my work with interfaith storytelling has grown.  The past few years, we added some workshops to our monthly story circles.  On February 10th, we'll have what I believe is our 10 or 11th annual Peace Story Concert.  It will be dedicated to one of our founders of this event, Mary Summerlin who left us last month.  We all miss her wonderful sparkle and positive attitude and, of course, her stories.
I am working on crafting some more stories- family, traditional, historical.
I look forward to writing weekly and sharing ideas.
